Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

RedSpace is a social media app that allows users to create profiles, share posts, upload photos, comment, send direct messages, interact with content, report content, block users, mute users or keywords, and manage their account. This Privacy Policy explains what information RedSpace collects, how it is used, how long it may be kept, and the choices users have.

2. Minimum Age

RedSpace is only for people aged 16 or over. RedSpace does not permit anyone under 16 to create or use an account. If we discover that an account belongs to someone under 16, we may suspend, restrict, or delete that account and associated information.

3. Who Controls Your Information

For now, RedSpace is operated by the RedSpace app owner. Contact email: jaydongoulding1@gmail.com This email can be used for privacy requests, account deletion requests, safety concerns, legal notices, and general support.

5. How RedSpace Uses Information

RedSpace uses information to:

  • Operate feeds, search, discovery, notifications, and account features
  • Personalise For You ranking using public activity and interests
  • Support reporting, blocking, muting, and moderation tools
  • Review reports and investigate abuse
  • Detect spam, scams, fraud, impersonation, and platform manipulation
  • Protect users and RedSpace systems
  • Improve app performance and reliability
  • Fix bugs and diagnose crashes
  • Respond to support requests
  • Enforce the Terms of Use and Community Guidelines
  • Comply with legal obligations

6. Legal Basis for Processing

Where UK GDPR or similar laws apply, RedSpace may rely on the following legal bases.

Contract

Some processing is necessary to provide the RedSpace service, including accounts, posts, comments, messaging, and core app features.

Legitimate Interests

RedSpace may process information to protect users, prevent abuse, improve the app, secure systems, moderate content, and operate a safe social platform.

Consent

Where required, RedSpace will ask for consent, such as for optional device permissions or optional tracking if introduced later.

Legal Obligation

RedSpace may process or retain information where required by law, legal requests, safety investigations, fraud prevention, or dispute handling.

7. Public Content

Some RedSpace content may be visible to other users, including:

  • Username
  • Profile image
  • Bio
  • Public posts
  • Public comments
  • Public interactions depending on the feature Users should not post sensitive information they do not want others to see.

8. Direct Messages

Direct messages are intended to be private between participants. However, direct messages may be reviewed, preserved, or acted on if:

  • A message is reported
  • Abuse or illegal behaviour is suspected
  • Safety action is needed
  • RedSpace must comply with legal obligations
  • Moderation or dispute handling is required Users must not use direct messages for harassment, exploitation, threats, scams, grooming, abuse, or illegal activity.

9. Uploaded Photos and Media

Users are responsible for any photos or media they upload. Users must not upload:

  • Content they do not own or have rights to use
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery
  • Child sexual abuse material
  • Exploitative or abusive content
  • Graphic violence
  • Illegal content
  • Content that breaches privacy rights
  • Content that infringes intellectual property rights

10. Third-Party Advertising and Tracking

RedSpace does not currently use third-party advertising tracking in the current app build. If third-party advertising, tracking, or analytics are added in the future, this policy should be updated before those features go live, and any required consent should be collected.

11. Service Providers

RedSpace may use third-party service providers to help operate the app, such as:

  • Cloud hosting providers
  • Database providers
  • File storage providers
  • Authentication providers
  • Push notification providers
  • Crash reporting tools
  • Analytics or diagnostic tools
  • Moderation or safety tools These providers should only use information as needed to provide their services to RedSpace.

12. Information Sharing

RedSpace does not sell personal information. RedSpace may share information:

  • With service providers required to operate the app
  • To comply with law or valid legal process
  • To protect users, the public, or RedSpace
  • To investigate abuse, fraud, or security incidents
  • In connection with a business transfer, merger, sale, or reorganisation

13. Data Retention

RedSpace keeps information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy. Retention periods may depend on:

  • Security needs Deleted content may remain in backups, logs, or moderation records for a limited period where necessary.

14. Account Deletion

Users can delete their account through Profile Settings where supported. When an account is deleted, RedSpace should remove the profile and associated user-generated content unless retention is required for:

16. Young Users

RedSpace is 16+ only. Because some users may be young people aged 16 or 17, RedSpace aims to apply extra care when handling safety, privacy, abuse reports, moderation, and harmful content.

17. International Processing

If RedSpace uses providers outside the United Kingdom, user information may be processed in other countries. Where required, RedSpace should use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

18. Security

RedSpace aims to protect information using reasonable technical and organisational measures. No online service can guarantee complete security. Users should keep login details private and report suspected account compromise.

19. Changes to This Policy

RedSpace may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be made available in the RedSpace Legal Centre.
