Safety, Reporting & Moderation Policy

1. Overview
This policy explains how RedSpace handles user reports, moderation, enforcement, harmful content, and urgent safety issues. RedSpace is a social media app for users aged 16 and over.
2. Reporting Tools
Where supported, users may report:
- Posts
- Comments
- Direct messages
- Profiles
- Accounts
- Impersonation
- Harassment
- Spam or scams
- Copyright issues
- Safety concerns Reports may be reviewed by RedSpace or its moderation systems.
3. What Happens After a Report
After a report is submitted, RedSpace may:
- Review the reported content
- Review surrounding context
- Check account history
- Hide or remove content
- Restrict features
- Suspend or delete accounts
- Preserve information for legal or safety reasons
- Take no action if no rule breach is found
4. Blocking and Muting
Users may be able to block accounts or mute accounts, words, topics, or keywords. Blocking and muting are user control tools. They do not always mean reported content will be removed globally.
5. Moderation Priorities
RedSpace may prioritise content involving:
- Immediate threats
- Child safety
- Sexual exploitation
- Non-consensual intimate imagery
- Credible violence
- Self-harm encouragement
- Harassment campaigns
- Scams or fraud
- Platform manipulation
6. Enforcement Options
RedSpace may take one or more actions, including:
- Warning the user
- Removing content
- Hiding content from public view
- Limiting reach
- Restricting posting, commenting, or messaging
- Suspending the account
- Permanently deleting the account
- Blocking device or account access
- Preserving evidence for safety or legal investigations
7. Appeals
Where an appeal option is available, users may request a review of certain moderation decisions. Appeals should include:
- The account involved
- The content or decision being appealed
- Why the user believes the decision was incorrect
- Any relevant context
8. Emergency Situations
RedSpace is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. In the UK, call 999.
9. Self-Harm or Suicide Risk
RedSpace does not allow content encouraging suicide or self-harm. Where RedSpace becomes aware of serious risk, it may remove content, restrict accounts, preserve information, or take other safety action.
10. Child Safety
RedSpace is not for users under 16. RedSpace does not allow child sexual abuse material, grooming, exploitation, or sexual content involving minors. Suspected child sexual abuse or exploitation may be escalated to appropriate authorities or reporting organisations where required.
11. Preservation of Information
RedSpace may preserve account, content, message, report, or technical information where necessary for:
- Legal obligations
- Safety investigations
- Fraud prevention
- Abuse investigations
- Security incidents
- Dispute handling
- Law enforcement requests
12. Transparency
RedSpace should aim to keep moderation processes understandable and fair. As the platform grows, RedSpace may publish transparency information about reports, enforcement actions, and safety improvements.
